I’m teaching EFT Level 1 and Matrix Reimprinting in Marlton, NJ so I thought it would be nice to do an introduction class because few of them had heard of EFT (let alone Matrix.) What I didn’t realize was that the location was a pranic healing center. I can tell you that I’ve never been asked questions like this before and I’m pretty open minded.
I was talking about using the clients’ words, to truly listen and use their words exactly so you don’t get in the way. And someone raises their hand, “What if you hear different words?” I clarify, “You mean your own words?” “No, their guide’s.” So you can imagine. I’m standing in front of a group of people I don’t know and someone is asking this question. If I was in the Matrix, I would’ve paused the scene. But I wasn’t.
AND I had just come back from teaching in Atlanta with a room full of licensed professionals because I am a CE provider for the National Association of Social Workers. So you can imagine that my head was firmly set in the now – certainly not anywhere near angels, guides, floating souls or anything remotely close to that. So I shifted gears. I meet my clients where ever they are at; if the divorce was the 6-year’s fault, then that’s where we start – right? Whether it’s possible or not. And, actually, if you think about it, that IS a good question. What if you DO hear guides? I don’t work with schizophrenics or DID or the like; my job is to help my clients and to teach how to use EFT and MR for yourself and others. So, I repeat, what if you DO hear guides? “Well,” I start answering, “we DO use intuition when we help our clients, but we have to be careful. Everything comes from the client. They might not be ready to hear what you are hearing. You can use what you are hearing for your own information and to stay on track and even to be prepared for what the client might say. But don’t change their words until they change their own words. Having said that, you CAN sometimes ask for clarification. If they say ‘I’m terrified’ and you hear ‘She wants to run away’, you can ask ‘what does terrified feel like to you?’” The woman says “Thank you, that makes sense. I often hear things that the person isn’t quite ready for.”
OK, great. I answered the question. I start to move on and another hand – “What if you see the event they are talking about in the past and they are leaving things out?” “Oh, boy,” I think, “this is going to be an interesting 3 hours, let alone 2 days of EFT Level 1. And wait until we get to Matrix Reimprinting!” So I answer, “same thing, use their words and what the client actually tells you. This is not a reading.” (hey, that was a good answer, thank you very much wherever it came from) “You are dissociating their feelings from whatever their trigger is. You are easing their emotions whatever THEY say their emotions are. Not your perception of their emotions, even if you may be right.” And she says, “Right, It’s not a reading. I get it now. That’ll take practice. Thanks.” And I say, “That’s why you’re here. To learn and practice. Make the mistakes here. Here is where we learn before we use this on ourselves and others.”
EFT Level 1 this weekend and then Matrix Reimprinting in December – this certainly will be an interesting 4 days. www.EFTinNJ.com
